The Mysterious Purple Sock

Jesse came home from preschool one day last month wearing someone else's sock. Not a PAIR of socks, but a lone purple sock. Needless to say, after washing it, I failed to return it to preschool. Jesse took it and has been playing with it in his room and it keeps turning up in odd places.

As you'll see in the video, he decided to wear it as a glove when we went outside to play one weekend. It was pretty nice outside, for January, and we were wearing light jackets and just exploring the yard. But, he had his sock on. He wore it the whole time. Very curious.

Enjoy!

Oh, and I've included some photos of the cat litter box that saved our lives (by smoldering for over 24 hours). Amazing!

  1. Does Jesse have a little shovel of his own? Did you buy him his own set of gardening tools? I'm thinking about getting some for Cameron for her birthday but I'm kind of worried she will cause more problems in the garden than solve them :-)

Our big daycare challenge is hair clips. I've lost about 2 dozen this year alone. Sigh. Good thing they are relatively cheap!

  2. @Stacey, those are my gardening tools. He does have a plastic rake that he LOVES to play with, but his attention span for digging is too small to be worth buying a set of tools for. He's WAY more interested in playing with the hose. :)

  3. that is so funny Steph! i love it. just the sort of story one would expect from being the mom of a toddler. Dylan went through a "sock on my hands" phase... it was so weird... for a few nights he couldn't fall asleep without socks on his hands! it wore off though. silly purple sock! lol!
Jesse sure does look grown up in these pics... love his cute little haircut.
